March Awakens

The return of March marks the return of Saturday & Sunday hours!

Signs of life have again returned to Bates Nursery.  With the monsoon season now past (hopefully), we now firmly have our focus on spring.  The awakening that arrives in March is a time of great excitement for gardeners like yourself, and near-mania for horticultural types, like us.  Although it may appear we are essentially closed during the months of January and February, nothing could be further from the truth.  We do little business, but we are quite busy.

The last weeks have been spent unloading trucks of plants and putting the finishing touches on displaying the many shipments of patio/deck containers and statuary pieces.  Our entire team has been tirelessly working throughout the winter. They have unpacked and priced, and created a pleasant presentation for the many gardening goodies that have arrived, just for you!

You asked for it, we have it, our initial shipments of veggie plants and herbs!  Yes, there are a few tomato plants available. These are for those individuals who possess great technical ability or have no sense at all.  We promise to not ask which group you believe you are in.  It is extremely early in the season; do not feel hastened by this information; March can be a tricky month.

One thing is for certain; it is about to start hoppin’ at Bates Nursery.  We are looking for a few gardening friends who appreciate working outdoors, handling plants and talking to people.  By the way, in addition to getting paid, you also get special employee discounts while you are employed.  For a list of the areas where we need seasonal help click here.  To download an employment application, click here.  I admit, it is pretty hard work, but we have fun doing it!

We are now open every day!  Our hours currently are as follows: Monday – Saturday 8am – 5pm; Sundays Noon to 4pm.  So come on out!  We have much to choose from; lots of expertise, and the greatest soils and amendments; where gardening success begins…EarthMix® Garden Products!
