There Goes June

BatesRewards members save big! 15% off your entire order*, plus an additional 40% off all Annuals in flattop greenhouse and all flowering tropicals!

She came and went.  June showed up in a hurry, and left in the same fashion.  Just about the time we were all getting comfortable with, and getting to know June well, she up and leaves forever…at least for 2019.  June is not leaving us high and dry, however. The month started off quite dry, in fact things were getting nearly desperately dry.  June was so parched at the beginning that when we received a 4” rainfall the first week of the month and Whites Creek didn’t even get dingy.  I don’t recall ever seeing that much rainfall nearly completely absorb into the ground.

Since that early in the month monsoon, we have been receiving rain throughout the remaining weeks.  Boy howdy.  Many areas have received 4” or more of additional rainfall, accompanied by some pretty fierce winds.  Hopefully you have avoided resulting damage to your property, but many have not.  The storm from last Friday night left many trees downed, and a lot of people without power, some for several days.

The silver lining in all of this is that we now have marvelous amounts of soil moisture.  The dirt is now agreeably friable and receptive to backyard excavation projects…also known as gardening.  We want to incentivize you to pursue your current landscaping interests.   Most projects around the garden are far ranging.  You could be in need of screening plants or simply wish to add some color here and there.  We can help.

Beginning Friday morning June 28 and continuing through July 3 (we will be closed July 4 for Independence Day), you will receive 15% off your entire order*, plus receive an additional 40% off on flowering annuals in the flattop greenhouse and on all flowering tropicals!  Remember to take pictures with your smartphone or tablet and bring them along.  It helps us greatly to get a glimpse of your garden, and offer suggestions!
