It's a Sign

Now OPEN Sundays Noon – 4p! Special guest Billy Crain this Saturday, 8a!

It is the telltale evidence of things in transition.  A subtle transformation strikes the frontal lobe.  The knowledge that things will never be exactly the same as before.  There is no turning back.  It is here.  It’s a sign.

Surely I’m referring to spring.  Nope.  It must be that we’re now opening seven-days-a-week.  That fact is true, but that is not it either.  It could be that we’re bringing in truckloads of plants daily; yet another correct assertion, however, still not the point. It is as plain as the nose on your face.  It’s a sign.

It’s not a sign of things to come.  It’s a sign of how old things, had become. It’s a sign of the times. It was an enduring sign.  It’s a sign that stood for 46 years, now gone…  It was a sign constructed from wooden letters anchored to the front of the building, and now replaced with a new LED logo sign.  It’s not earth shaking.  It’s a new sign on the front of the building.  It’s a sign.

Despite the forecast drizzle for the days ahead, the weather looks promising.  We currently have no severe weather occupying our gardening bandwidth.  You might feel like planting warm season vegetables, but you should wait.  Yes, we do have a limited selection for those who feel compelled, but we suggest you stick with cool season veggies: broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, spinach, and others, for nowYou should leave the tomato plants, but we have them, in case you just can’t.

We continue to provide timely, weekly topics broadcast on BNBBCClick here for upcoming webinar topics, and here for archives.   Additionally, every Saturday morning, “The At Home Show with Josh Cary and David Bates”, broadcasts live from “TheGreenRoom”, at Bates Nursery.  Be sure to tune in this week for special guest, Billy Crain, a southern rock, legendary guitarist, will be performing, and discussing his newest release, his volunteer work with veterans, and much more.  It’s a sign!
