A Taste of Autumn in August

As we discussed last week, our weather has taken a turn, quite a wonderful detour indeed.  Yesterday’s cool autumnal feel does not appear to be a one-off.  While it was a bit warmer today, the forecast through the weekend continues with highs only in the mid to lower eighties, and an increased chance of rain; a.k.a. scattered thunderstorms (your plants won’t know the difference).  We’ll take it!

This is a most interesting pre-seasonal transition, time of year.  While it is most definitely summer, the extended forecast bodes well for plantings in advance of autumn.  We’ve had a lot of inquiries about fall veggies, and yes, our first shipment has arrived.  In addition to that, we also have a wonderful selection of late summer/early autumn color for container gardening, or for filling in an empty spot or two.  The early mums have arrived as well.

We received another shipment of Monrovia plants this week.  They are fantastic as always.  I think they would look even more fantastic in your garden.
