The speed at which we are proceeding through the holiday season is shocking.  It seems as though Halloween was only a couple of weeks ago.  I’m telling on myself.  The certainty of time dilation, as the aging process continues, is a confounding perception.  Be that as it may, time marches on, at our own perceived rates. I am grateful to be getting older; probably not grateful enough.

Truth be told, I have much to be thankful for.  Merely surviving 2020 without sickness is no small part of that gratitude.  Another significant part is the opportunity to have friends like you in my life.  I am blessed beyond measure.  You make what we do here at Bates Nursery possible.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Flowery words are always nice to hear, they just seem to mean more if they’re followed by a supportive action.  With that thought, I want you to have a small token of our appreciation for everything you have done this year.  While supplies last, please drop in and pick up a FREE poinsettia of your choosing.   Any size, any color.  We ask that you only take one per household.  No purchase required.  Simply stop in, pick your poinsettia, and you’re on your way!  It is also a great opportunity to re-gift to someone who might really appreciate a holiday touch to brighten their day!

While it may begin to appear that we ‘go out of business’ during the winter, nothing could be further from the truth.  We simply move most of our inventory indoors.  Winter is a wonderful time to plant, to see what we have on hand at any time, search: batesnursery.com.  We also carry the largest selection of tropicals, soils and decorative containers in Nashville.  Starting January 9, we will be open Saturdays from 10a – 2p!  We know houseplants are always on your mind.
