The Red Sunset maple is a moderately-fast growing shade tree, valued for its fall foliage. Delicate flowers bud early in the spring, followed by lustrous green leaves. During the fall, the leaves change to a brilliant red. The tree has a rounded shape and strong branch structure, and makes an excellent shade tree.

Sunlight: Full Sun to partial shade
Water Needs: Red maples can tolerate wetter areas. Plant in an area that remains consistently moist, but that has well-draining soil.
Fertilizer: Mix in ⅓ soil amendment when planting. Each year, mulch with hardwood mulch and add some Tree-Tone and/or extra compost to give the tree the nutrients it needs to thrive.
