Anemone vitifolia 'Robustissima' is similar to
A. x hybrida in growth habit. The major difference
is the foliage. Anemone vitifolia 'Robustissima'
has deeply lobed leaves that resemble grape leaves and a thick
covering of whitish hairs on the stems and undersides of the leaves.
Also, it blooms earlier than other Japanese Anemones. The flowers
are 2-3" across, the petals are pale, rose pink and the stamens
are bright yellow. This perennial performs well in areas
with morning sun and afternoon shade.
